On 11th October 2006 Information Security specialists 7Safe hosted a major new event for the UK’s leading information security professionals at HM Tower of London. The inaugural Information Security Network (ISN) featured many influential and high profile speakers in the field of cyber crime and offered IT Security professionals an ideal opportunity to network with their peers and find solutions to their Information Security needs. It was the first of a series of ISN events to be hosted by 7Safe in the UK. The featured presenters hailed from a diverse range IT sectors, including software development, law enforcement and telecommunications. Attendees were introduced to the head of e-Evidence at SOCA (Serious Organised Crime Agency) Marc Kirby MSc, who gave a fascinating presentation on recent trends in cyber-crime. The capacity audience of over 150 delegates heard first hand reports of major corporate hacking and industrial espionage cases. |
Notable presentations were given by Graham Whitehead, BT’s world renowned Principal Consultant looking at the future of telecoms and IT and Tony Fagelman, General Manager of the Internet Watch Foundation. 7Safe’s expert consultants gave an in-depth talk on the topic of corporate evidence collection, and ISN sponsors Norman Data Defense Systems demonstrated their expertise at Malware Analysis utilising their zero day attack technology. Overall the Inaugural ISN event was a resounding success.
