On 18th January 2007, 7Safe Information Security hosted another Information Security Network at RAF Henlow, Bedfordshire. The event was targeted towards those service personnel interested in all aspects of protecting information, from penetration testing to digital forensics to implementing information security management systems. The featured presenters hailed from a range of IT sectors – IT security consultancy, law enforcement and telecommunications. Attendees were introduced to E-Crime Team Leader at SOCA (Serious Organised Crime Agency) Tony Hutchings, who gave a fascinating presentation detailing the threat of e-crime and growing number of criminals using the Internet to facilitate their criminal business. BT’s renowned Principal Consultant Graham Whitehead was also present. His session focused on the future world of telecoms and IT. The ISN also featured 7Safe consultants specialising in the three fields of digital forensics, penetration testing and ISO 27001, whose presentations covered topics including: the relevance of digital forensics in collecting corporate evidence, the nature of Information Security Management Systems and the benefits of following the information security management standard, ISO 27001. We trust everyone who attended enjoyed the ISN and found the information useful and relevant to their professional lives. |
